What else is there to say... a civil engineering contractor is not a welfare organization and 700 tons of gravel are not just quickly installed and compacted on a longer afternoon. Strangely, such unrealistic ideas usually come from people who themselves have hourly rates of 100 EUR and up, but then complain when others want to earn well too ;)
They give you a price per ton, that's it. No one goes there and says, "Oh right, the excavator is there anyway, so synergy effect... okay, let's see, the pipes could be laid during the break, that would be cheaper, he can also compact after working hours, that won't cost you anything... etc."
No company works like that.
By the way, WilderSüden also built at times when prices were moderate and there was no 8% annual inflation and no Ukraine war. That must always be mentioned when you want to put your prices into perspective.
And then, as already mentioned, it also depends on the distance to the nearest gravel pit. Northern Bavaria is, believe it or not, comparable in many areas to Thuringia, so rather structurally weak. Maybe the nearest source is 30, 40 km away?
The truck and the driver make up a large part of the costs, both for disposal and delivery.
