Today the Okal consultant was with us. We went through the cost breakdown together; I found it positive that we can go to the sample selection without signing a contract. The consultant will accompany us. Afterwards, we will put together a corrected cost plan again.
We have already received a statement of the additional construction costs.
If you decide on Okal, you will probably have to make your selections at their specified sampling center.
Yes, that's what I thought.
Keep in mind that completing the sampling in one day is a huge effort/stress; plan enough time and have your children – if you have any – well cared for.
Our consultant even suggested 2 days. The children will be well taken care of during that time.
Another tip: insist first on always being shown the "standard" per trade (in my opinion, it is legitimate that the external suppliers want to increase their share of the pie); standardized contract components are not necessarily the worst choice. If you don’t like the selection, you can always buy extras or carry out the odd trade – here probably plumbing and tiles – in EL. I doubt that Okal allows you to choose suppliers on your own and then installs these products.
That is a very good tip which we will definitely keep in mind. Thank you very much.
OKAL, then Allkauf Haus and Massa Haus belong to the Deutsche Fertighaus Holding Group; until about a year ago Okal Haus was a very high-priced provider.
So we approached various prefab house consultants at a model house exhibition; with Weberhaus and Bodenseehaus, for example, the whole thing would be much more expensive for us.
So we are leaning strongly towards Okal Haus, since they have the building plot in the location we prefer. We haven’t signed anything yet. He is already planning the floor plan with us, has provided us with the costs, and has now been here three times. The floor plan already appeals to us. He makes a serious impression, definitely so far, but we shall wait and see. It’s not over yet.
