I would only place floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground floor where they are intended to serve as terrace exits. Exits are more comfortable with so-called flat thresholds. Exits with flat thresholds onto floor-level surfaces without gutters in between pose the risk of water ingress. We had this threshold discussion during the Räuber fiasco project, see (just as an approximate location, the topic extended over several pages).
We only have a low threshold at the main exit door to the terrace. Otherwise, it is a regular frame. With a low threshold, going in and out is much more comfortable. However, more dirt tends to get into the house.
Floor-to-ceiling windows could, in the worst case, also be fixed-glass, then it becomes really difficult to go outside.
In that case, teleportation is still an option for us. Seriously though, thank you for your note, that was something we hadn't considered. Whenever I thought about windows, I always assumed "one" could open them. It seems our prefabricated house order may still hold some surprises for us. Well, no matter what, the new house will at least be habitable.
