Am I being threatened with a 30,000 EUR contractual penalty...?

Yes, that’s what I feared, now I didn’t want it to come across as if I were acting intentionally.

Because...

our greatest wish right now is to build our own four walls. Certainly, I would move back to the North over time as well. In the summer of 2017, I succeeded in landing a well-paid job.

That’s actually all that has happened.
I’m just wondering how I can keep the house and the job. In the end, I would choose the house.

We just have a ton of thoughts running through our minds right now.

Just asking: For what reasons do you have to live there the first few years?

Still don’t understand: you’ve been thinking about it since February, but you only got the new job in summer?

Anyway: if the timing doesn’t work, then it doesn’t. Mom moves in alone next to strangers, and what you’ve already signed there or still have to do will be canceled and this stranger will buy it.
And eventually, when it fits, you’ll come back up. Period.

Why we "have to" live in it for the first 5 years, unfortunately I cannot tell you.

That is unfortunately fixed like that.

I assume that the city does not want any people to set up rental apartments and operate businesses there.

In February, we had just submitted the application to purchase a plot of land, during that time we were simply thinking about how and when to move.

Then a few months later I changed jobs. Since then, I have been asking myself, okay, what do I do now. I am still in my probation period until mid-January.

I don't see a problem there now. Just don't buy it. I rather think you are disappointing your mother and now trying to find a way out to not disappoint her. Everything else is not a problem.

I'm done. Good luck.

Thank you, unfortunately this is also a problem, I really didn't think I had to write down every detail... But you guys have seen through everything so far ). Hats off!

Tomorrow I will call the city in the north and tell them how things currently stand regarding the new job. Just straight talk... Either we come to an agreement, if not then I will probably have to give up the job and move to the north. I have time to look for work until the houses are finished being built.

It's all no use, great forum! Thanks to you all!!

Did I win something?
Well, if you come up north, you'll probably have to ask the forum for help quite a few more times - see you around :)
