Hi, quick update. We have been living in our house since April 2020. We totally underestimated things or blindly trusted our architect. The money at that time was exactly enough to deliver the house turnkey and to move into our dream home. Unfortunately, there was no money left for the double garage and the outdoor area. We were just able to prepare the base in the driveway and around the house. We even had to borrow 15,000 from my parents. But that has already been paid back. Nevertheless, I would do everything exactly the same again. We have since financed an additional 100,000 because now, in Corona and war times, nothing has gotten cheaper to finish everything. The double garage is finished, driveway/"garden" will be done in 4 weeks. With 1,000 sqm, also a really expensive item, although we are only doing paving and fencing but even that quickly costs 35,000 euros-40,000 euros. In the meantime, we have a 1 1/2 year old child, my wife works part-time and we have a household income of 5,700 euros including child benefit. That means we have now borrowed 565,000 (remaining debt 543,000). The mixed interest rate is approximately 1.33%.
