Hello everyone,

I have (miraculously) not found a topic related to my question. Or is "Wohnnebenkosten" simply the wrong word?

When thinking about building a house or financing it, in my opinion, it is at least just as interesting to know the ongoing costs after construction as the costs of building. Or am I wrong? Of course, there are enormous differences depending on the region, house size, family situation, etc. Therefore, I am more looking for a listing of all items (without the underlying amounts), with which one can then inform oneself about how high the expenses are in their personal case. Meant are: loan installments, water, sewage, electricity, heating costs, insurance, garbage, taxes, ...

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,
Martin

Tax -> property tax
Insurances -> household contents and building
plus maintenance costs for any ventilation, but basically the heating system annually
Waste is also there, you forgot
GEZ
Telephony + Internet
possibly chimney sweep

that's probably all:

I want to give some insight into what we pay. It’s more than you think.

Electricity: approx. 3000 kWh = approx. 60-70 €
Heating (gas): approx. 50 € per month, Kfw 55 house with solar thermal on the roof, ventilation with heat recovery, wood stove (just for coziness).
Phone/internet: 45 €
Water and property tax: approx. 40 €
Garbage: approx. 20 €
Term life insurance: 30 €
Disability insurance: 120 €
Pension insurance: x (should not be forgotten, because the state will not give much :))
Municipal charge: 20 € (construction projects in the community, therefore never big costs, when something is built in front of the house.)
Building insurance: 25 €
Legal protection: 15 €
Liability insurance: 8 €
Household insurance:
[Gez]: 18 €
Maintenance and chimney sweep: approx. 30 €

What we also have is a monthly train ticket because we save on a second car. And approx. 100 € more for gasoline than in the rental apartment.
If you are exact here, you also have to calculate something for the car, because daily kilometers have doubled since the move. That means you have to buy a new car earlier.

The biggest chunk, however, is child care:
Here you do get a subsidy from the youth welfare office and it is tax deductible, but we first have to manage with almost 400 € per month.
What will come back from the taxes, I can only say in 2015 :)

The most important thing: these are all very individual numbers. For example, we had to buy all electrical appliances new and are therefore up to date.
I also think that water and garbage are extremely cheap for us compared to Karlsruhe.

Many of the above costs are due once a year. Many things for us come now in March.
In total, it quickly adds up to more than the 300 € that bankers like to calculate.

I hope it helps a little.

I would not include BU and RV in that.
