There is not a word about which insurance is meant (ah, yes, [Berufsgenossenschaft]). But definitely not health insurance!

The statutory accident insurance provides benefits for work-related health damages, for example, if the helper suffers a health injury during their assigned activity on your construction site or on the way to or from it. Hammered a nail into the hand, fallen off the ladder, badly twisted the foot. Then the BG covers the treatment costs, possibly payable sickness benefits (then called accident benefits), or also rehabilitation measures required due to the accident for the insured person, up to an accident pension due to reduced earning capacity (MdE). Not to be confused with a reduced earning capacity pension, which the statutory pension insurance pays if a person is no longer professionally capable of working on the general labor market before reaching retirement age.

For you as a builder, however, a private accident insurance should be sufficient. Provided it is needed at all. Health damages caused by accidents are comparatively rare, but the insurance for it is not very expensive either. I consider voluntarily extending the statutory accident insurance for your own work to be completely exaggerated, unless you go part-time because of the construction. But that is just my opinion!, not a recommendation.
