Here you can see what the canopy used to look like.

Nice contradiction. On the one hand, it is stated that anyone with even a little joy in aesthetics would get "eye herpes" at the sight. On the other hand, of course, just a personal opinion. You notice that yourself, right? I find it chic and suitable for the house. The red matches the roof tiles and is a cheerful start. How the design will work in the long term remains to be seen. But finally, something not angular, minimalist, and gray.

I see a clear and consistent development compared to the before photo of the house. Even if something is not my taste, I can still appreciate it. I think it's great when houses are truly designed and reflect the residents' tastes. And you don't have to take everything too seriously. Putting such a thing in a residential area in [D] already proves courage and humor, and that's why I like it.

No contradiction. My opinion is that every architecture-interested person’s toenails would curl up. The biggest "problem" in my opinion with this canopy - but that matches the individuality of the original poster, as we also see in many other threads - is that it appears like a foreign body on the house. There is no architectural connection to the house established and it appears slapped on to stand out (sorry ).

Oh, someone is turning an existing house into a home for themselves, their little monkey, and their horse, which Doctor Snuggles would also like. What a relief amidst a parade of pseudo-villas, Tuscan-style houses, or even worse, houses cloned from the mayor of Somewhere’s village, including garden gnomes. The existing house is not demolished to replace it with a trendy floor plan. A house for someone whose grandchild does not need a bought industrial toy.

just to avoid any misunderstandings:

The garden gnome was already living there before the roof was in place
