Threw the AutoCAD file from the architect into SweetHome 3D and done. That wasn’t really the challenge. Of course, nothing is furnished or anything like that, but the architects do offer that and it’s regularly done professionally in the project area as well. For example, creating Mock Ups, etc.
But I have no idea what that costs. Neighbors have done something like that including their own pictures and cars in the mockup.
How far the step towards VR is then, no idea. But you can find appropriate solutions nowadays even in kitchen studios.

So I don’t need it, but there’s definitely a market for it. Especially if it were cheaper than existing solutions.

That already fails because of the countless amount of furniture and objects..... the best VR is useless to me if there is no 3D model of the furniture I have chosen.....

You can see plenty of market for your offer here - especially in the threads with over a hundred posts: the overlap between those wanting everything perfect and people who can’t grasp 3D with their own imagination and/or scrutinize every brick and tile color is quite substantial. or would in my opinion be potential customers here as types, as well as - you can look at their threads as examples of indecisiveness from perfectionists. Your program should be able to easily import colors and textures of actual market-offered specific bricks, tiles, gate claddings, etc. And since many potential clients will be those who create their floor plans with 3D shareware & Co, I would see a useful feature in your program warning against offset downpipes and the like. Because there are big talent gaps with amateur Picassos there.

For me, there is still a difference between 3D and VR.

Every better kitchen studio does 3D... VR would have to run on the HTC Vive or Oculus.

I can imagine that this would help some people and would also be gladly used....if...the costs are not too high and it is not too large and complicated a time investment for architects.

This already exists in the commercial sector. For large projects and large commercial properties, this is already being done. However, the benefit is somewhat different there. Especially when, for example, the property and the investor are far apart.

Well, strictly speaking, VR "played on a screen" is really "neither fish nor fowl." You would have to be able to experience the house in a data suit, including "bumping" yourself when you design the stairs or the bedroom with too little headroom or the bathroom with too narrow a passage between the toilet and the sink.
