The choice of materials doesn't exactly sound like social housing either. In this respect, the "sympathy" due to the high price is quite low
If you spend >200€/sqm on flooring work, it has to do with free choice and decision, and not, for example, regional differences.
Our daughter really didn't skimp on anything. I also believe that there would have been significantly cheaper materials. Nevertheless, the craftsmen costs are enormous.
Unfortunately, you are currently not allowed to ask about prices, at least not here with us. For example, from a single flat roof sealer, there was an offer – even though we inquired with seven.
Sure, I was aware that the price was exorbitantly high. The question remained: seal or not? In plain terms, we were forced to accept the price.
It was like this with many trades.
Surely many craftsmen also thought: With this construction, money doesn't matter, so the price was set accordingly. My opinion: If I expect my customers to accept my prices, then as a customer I also demand corresponding quality.
But no trade finished without complaints and costly rework.
Work was botched to an unbelievable degree – but apparently many customers accept that. We have the reputation of being difficult customers.
The craftsmen on site are allowed to get away with anything because the boss depends on them. They are obviously aware of this. Criticism from the boss is met with threats to terminate the employment.
I am glad that my daughter’s house is now finished.
My house will be tackled in 2020 – a lot of experience from the last construction will be incorporated.
