Every Sunday, I am occupied with the question of what kind of work on the house construction is allowed/possible on Sundays/public holidays.

Usually, there is not much time during the week. Therefore, I am currently working on the house every Sunday.

We already have all the windows installed but still have 2 construction doors that do not insulate sound very well.

For example, today I would have to clean up the dirt from plastering the ceiling and vacuum up the flakes between the rafters.
My wife says: “That is absolutely not allowed.”

How do you see it, or what kind of work have you done on Sundays?

Thank you.

Counter-question: Who would be bothered by that? What does the surrounding area currently look like? Are there already people living around?

Good question whether anyone would be bothered by it.
I don't know the neighborhood that well.

Yes, people live around it.
It is not a new development - rather in the town center.

However, there are no inhabited houses directly adjacent.
The inhabited buildings are about 50m away as the crow flies.

So vacuuming is probably not really an issue.

When building or renovating a house, neighbors are usually quite tolerant because they are happy about the "gain" in the neighborhood. However, one should not overextend this tolerance; therefore, work with dampened noise or only about 10 minutes on Sunday is recommended. But there are always some troublemakers, one out of a hundred. But you will never please them; they will be sensitive even at 11 a.m. on weekdays. If I were you, I would introduce myself to the next neighbors and ask about their tolerance on weekends: usually, people are more tolerant with acquaintances than with strangers. But for me, it is proper to introduce yourself as a newcomer anyway.

Yes, if vacuuming is no longer allowed? Almost everyone does that on Sundays in their apartments. We told the neighbors right from the start to get in touch if something bothered them. Work was done without exception every Sunday, from early morning until late, sometimes grinding in the garage (door closed, but you can still hear it outside) and the circular saw was started. After 11 PM, we tried to avoid loud machines as much as possible, but then other work continued late into the night. No one ever complained, although I have to say that our neighborhood is unique.
