Hello everyone,

I would be interested in your opinion. We currently have 2 offers and both convince us in terms of content and are also very similar in price. When we compare service with service, both include the same and both achieve the same technical standard. Floor slab, windows, roof, doors, floor coverings, painting quality, etc. are identical and can be neglected. Both work with an air-water heat pump, underfloor heating, parquet floors, identical sanitary equipment, etc. The biggest difference between the two companies, however, is the wall and ceiling construction, and I am interested in your experiences from one area or the other. Even though it is almost a philosophical question, I want to ask it: What things do you notice in wood frame or brick houses after years? What should we pay attention to in the construction service description? Are there any tips in this regard?

Provider 1: wood frame construction, wood fiber insulation, wood panels and no Styrofoam, etc. Wall thickness 30 cm, very good U-values. Ceilings and interior walls 15 cm in the same construction, only without wood fiber insulation, but with Knauf insulation. The house is described as diffusion-open. Provider 2: bricks filled with mineral wool, 36.5 cm. Concrete ceilings in the stories. Interior walls made of solid gypsum 10 cm.

We have now requested all values regarding sound insulation, U-value, etc. from both companies and on paper the wooden house is superior. Currently, nothing speaks for the brick house and yet they make such a good impression that it is now being considered in the final round.

Has anyone faced a similar decision, have experience with bricks with mineral wool or in the wood frame area? Your experiences and opinions are helpful for our decision.

Best regards

I had already answered your question earlier before it was apparently moved from the incorrect category "Erfahrungen mit Hausbaufirmen":

: an extension in timber frame construction is no big secret nowadays. Measured with a point cloud, into CAD, then onto the Hundegger. That's actually much easier than possibly cutting a quarter brick...

: how just in time can your wooden frame panels be integrated into the production process? I think the logistics are more practiced with the stonemasons, starting with the temporary dismantling on the neighboring building (eaves on the "Kommun" wall). Also, positioning the wall panels practically without any gap at the crane is not trivial. But I am happy to be "instructed" by the corresponding precision magicians.
