Hello,

so the argument that wooden beam ceilings don’t work with underfloor heating is complete nonsense...

We have a wooden beam ceiling and on top of it a completely normal screed with integrated water-based underfloor heating.

The sound insulation, I think, depends on the basic construction of the ceiling.

In our case, at least, you can hardly hear anything from the upper floor – no footsteps and not even the shower...

Regards,

Dirk

Hello Dirk,

That interests me now; sorry for my curiosity

Are you sure that cement screed and not dry screed was laid?

Rhenish regards

Hello Martina,

yes, definitely.

This is what our bathroom floor (attic) looked like before the screed was poured:

On top of that came completely "normal" screed.

Dirk

Hello,

our ceiling is a total of 46 cm thick - 30 cm wooden beam ceiling + 16 cm screed. The floor covering is added on top of that.

I can look up the exact structure for you tomorrow - at the moment I am on the go and don't have my construction performance description with me...

This ceiling structure is standard for our house manufacturer - so we didn't choose anything special.

Regards,

Dirk
