Windows with sandstone frames costs

since I was wonderfully helped with my last question here, I now have a second one.

Yesterday, while passing by, I saw a new building in our area that had the windows framed with sandstone, and there was also a base made of sandstone. I thought it was really great and would also fit visually very well with our planned construction.

Now I am wondering whether this is affordable, what the durability is like, and any other experiences with it.

I also thought it was cool and once asked a stonemason about it back then, and it wasn’t that expensive. Unfortunately, I can’t find it anymore, but I think it was around €600 including installation for a 1.2 x 1.8 m window. Plus extra effort for thermal bridges, etc.

we are currently considering building a half-timbered house, 9 x 11 m, 53-degree roof pitch, no bay windows etc. in Lower Saxony.

And now sandstone surrounds on the window reveals and sandstone plinths – how does that fit together (technically), or is it about another house?

Since the B plan in our community does not allow the half-timbered house as we had imagined it, we now have to revise our plans and are looking for alternatives. And the sandstone trim caught my eye, which would also correspond to our style.

Just google Fa. Villa Belavista from Radebeul. This construction company builds beautiful villas, very often with sandstone details. Sandstone is quite common around Dresden (Elbsandsteingebirge). Maybe you can contact them and get information. I would be interested as well. Best regards Steffi.
