Good morning,
after endless back and forth considerations, it looks like we are now moving away from a ventilation system (Central and Decentralized).

Mainly my wife does not want this.

Our plumbing person has now recommended a basic ventilation. Including window rebate ventilation.

Does anyone have this and can provide real experiences?

Topic sound insulation for example
My wife is at home a lot and loves to ventilate a lot.

But even without ventilating, there would be no mold, only the air would be stuffier, he says.

I hope for good information.

Experiences from people without a ventilation system would be preferable to me. And that the living comfort is worse, that is clear to me.

If the woman is at home a lot and likes to air out, then for heaven's sake don't let yourselves get crazy.

You don't need anything at all, certainly no window rebate ventilators.

We have a central system because both of us work full time and we don't feel like opening and closing all the windows every morning and evening.

Also, I love to have peace and good air in the bedroom.

We have been living for 2 years with window rebate ventilation without any additional technology, even when we are away for 2 weeks we have no moisture problems. Our hygrometers are still there and they say everything is fine.

With us like Egon. Window rebate seals plus exhaust fan in the bathroom, humidity-controlled. Zero problems, good air. But often also have something open somewhere. Bedroom, for example, permanently tilted.

We have also had a window rebate ventilation system for 5 years. We do a complete draft every morning. Upstairs, the bedrooms are ventilated briefly again in the evening, and the bathroom is ventilated anyway after showering. For the ground floor, the opening of the front and terrace doors during the day is sufficient for us. In the first 1-2 years, we also aired out thoroughly in the evening. So far, no problems with mold or high humidity levels.
Only in autumn, when it is very humid outside, do the indoor levels inevitably rise somewhat due to ventilation.

It is important that especially in the first years the walls can breathe. So do not place furniture directly against the walls and with large pictures we initially waited or regularly ventilated behind the existing pictures.

Does one have the feeling that the window is drafty?

That you perceive noises louder through the closed window
