Total nonsense. 16 meters in one piece is the limit. 3-4 meters is no problem. We have over 5 meters, movable and frameless.

The glass panes of our patio roof are about 4m long. It might depend on the thickness of the glass? I just read online that there are even 18m pieces in one length,

Best regards

18 meter window or terrace roof? There is a difference. I know of a German glass manufacturer who makes up to 16 meters. Possibly there are others who go even further. But in any case, the size of the [TE] is not a problem.

Definitely, the desired size (without subdivision) is not a problem...

We recently had this issue: - it was about 2 x 2 meters, and in my opinion the sticking point, which may be a bit overly cautious depending on taste but cannot be dismissed entirely, is always the distance from the center of the pane to the corners of the pane. In this case, I see it as more favorable due to the smaller width. However, I suspect the bottleneck lies elsewhere, namely with the profile length: the processing machines are often only designed for 240 cm profile length. And since it really wouldn’t be stable to insert a one-piece pane into a two-part frame profile, I understand the concerns - but they should be named more honestly.

Using the lofty word "concept" in connection with this facade, however, made me laugh out loud.

These special-shaped panes are always a risk for installers - mistakes are very expensive and so is warranty. So better not offer them or charge a high price - especially when the sun shines on the pane for a long time and it is triple glazing. I would only accept a subdivision if the "mullion corresponds with the entrance door or indicates the floor height. We had a similar discussion and the mullion solution turned out well. There is a blind element that covers the gallery floor, which would otherwise have been visible from the side - see the end face in the photo.
