Should have stated that it is a prefabricated house.

Currently, the windows in the old building are supposed to be replaced, inside and outside, but the previous owner did not consider any window sills or window depth.

Old building, prefabricated house: ? ? ? ? ? I don’t think old building; old building would mean before 1948, in which case a prefabricated house b) would be rare and a) hardly worth new windows anymore or c) probably not to be re-glazed without monument preservation. The windows in the picture also don’t look ready for replacement yet. It’s still a bit early for April Fools’ jokes, don’t you think?

I don't think old building, old building would mean before 1948, where a prefabricated house b) would be rare and a) hardly worth new windows anymore or c) probably not even allowed to be fitted with new windows without a monument conservator. But the windows in the picture also don’t look ready to be replaced yet. It’s still a bit early for April Fools’ jokes, don’t you think?

The picture is a sample picture, currently I only have a hole in the wall. That’s why the question before the window goes in.

I would put insulation on it, then you also have space for windowsills.

You do know how a prefab house is built, right? The panels are insulated and according to the energy certificate I have a primary energy demand of 93 kWh. Annually 800€ for heating oil with domestic hot water, so I can't complain?

Yes, and if the infill panels are basically not insulated, you should just add something on the outside. Is heating oil really that cheap right now? Or does the house only have 50 m²? Otherwise, I find it hard to imagine..

Not right now, but based on the values, I thought the previous thickness of the insulation was sufficient. I'm only working on one room and didn't really want to do a complete overhaul. The cabin won't be standing in 10 years anyway.
