Hello everyone,
we are currently purchasing a plot of land where we want to build an extension in boundary construction on the neighbor's house. The building authority now requires the neighbor to have their windows removed. Do these have to be closed up and bricked, or would it be sufficient to cover them cost-effectively with [Fermacell Platten F90] and thus ensure a fire protection wall?

Thank you and regards

The proof of an F90 fire protection solution for a non-permissible window in a fire protection wall is probably significantly more expensive than removing the window and having the opening bricked up. A detail/concept from an expert/engineering office for fire protection may possibly be necessary for the Fermacell solution. I would save myself the effort. It is not only about the fire resistance period F90 but also about preventing smoke passage in the joint area.
