I can only confirm everything. We also build on slopes, also waterproof against water pressure. Although we don’t have a vineyard but forest on the mountain side, there is no opening in the basement, the basement is WU and additionally sealed outside.

Everything else would also be loosely under the motto "I don't need winter tires, I never drive anyway at temperatures below 4°C."
