What is the difference between bare new building plots, which are built on and planted, and a forest where the trees are cleared for a few new buildings?
Right!... the time

Hm the new building plots I mean (that we pass by every day) seem to have forgotten about planting. There grows (weed-free) grass, but that's about it. Those are sad plots, you really don't need a garden there. Funny enough, though, they all have garden sheds . Seems like nothing more will come of it, the houses have all been there for a few years (10?).

Unfortunately, there are also plenty of old properties where old trees are cut down because their leaves are so annoying...

We recently had our beech tree fitted with crown support. The neighbors across the street were really hoping we would have it cut down right away. Such a tree damages the sewer line in the street, after all.
The arborist was already familiar enough with people like that.

Yeah, unfortunately our neighbors also cut down and chopped like crazy, terrible. That wouldn't fly with me, we're now also the only ones here who still have non-halved trees standing. But you can see on our trees that the previous owner went about it pretty much the same way. The main trunk was cut down each time and a stump left standing, from which a new shoot then grew. But I didn't move to the forest to cut everything down. Where there is now too much of a gap because of the neighboring chainsaw massacre, I simply plant everything back up again (distances are observed!). The effect of "more light and air!" for the neighbors is therefore quite limited. But I just don't like it bare. And if I want light, I go outside, I don't need a "light-flooded house."

I would like to revive the topic. I'll throw the gingerbread tree ([Katsurabaum]) into the room. Soon we will be planting: apple ([Gravensteiner]) and pear ([Gute Luise]), each as half-standard. But this is supposed to be about deciduous trees ...

Plum tree, can't understand why you only rarely see it anywhere anymore. Just think plums are simply awesome
