Which storage system in combination with a solar system?

It is relatively simple. The battery management reduces the new module to the performance of the old modules. After 1 year, the difference is already so big that apparently the manufacturer himself recommends retrofitting only within the first 12 months.

Storage only really "makes sense" with a KFW40+ new build. And then there might be federal states or cities that promote it.

Without funding, just leave it out. Better for the environment and your wallet.

As long as the storage systems are still at the current price level, it is not worthwhile yet. Ideally and from an environmental perspective maybe, but that's also romantic wishful thinking. Even if you can currently buy the 2.4 kWh for just under 1000€ (Pylontech LiFePo4 batteries), you can buy a lot of electricity for that money for a very long time. Personally, I find the idea of a system with a hybrid inverter, large storage, and maximum island operation very attractive, but more because I find the technology exciting. Objectively considered, it is still nonsense from a calculation standpoint.
