I would take an 80s bowl.

And make sure it is made of aluminum. A steel one might rust away faster than you think. I saw this with a neighbor whose bowl had to be replaced after just a few years.

We use Fuba, Televes, and Kathrein. I myself have a Kathrein dish on the roof, which is more expensive but unbreakable. The one from my parents is 30 years old, and nothing is rusting.

For multiswitches, I also use those from Kathrein; none of them have ever been defective (except when struck by lightning). Unfortunately, I don’t have good experiences with multiswitches from Televes.

You have to be careful with red dishes; usually, the red does not match the roof color. I usually prefer anthracite because it simply stands out completely from the roof color.

Ha My one is square. And it just stands around on the garage and is not visible from below because I didn’t want another mast on the roof. It’s a Selfsat antenna, which proved itself in the old house and still looked like new after 12 years. So far I only had one case where no signal came, but the world outside was almost falling apart. It doesn’t really care about snow either.

The DigiDish 45 from Technisat is supposed to be a decent dish despite the 45cm size.

If you install the antenna yourself, you should definitely pay attention to appropriate lightning protection.

Have you always had good reception with the Selfsat or were there sometimes problems, for example in bad weather? We also have it on the "maybe" list, but I am unsure about the reception quality for "regular use" (maybe a maximum of 2 hours of TV per week).

We have everything from Kathrein.

Especially the dish with the matching LNB and masts is a dream! Hidden cable routing, etc.!

When I see the cheap models of our neighbors... Ours is a whole different class! For the small additional cost...
