Hello everyone,
we are currently planning the construction of a new single-family house. Now we, like many others, face the question of which heating system is the right one. It is certain that we want underfloor heating in the house.

The following alternatives are available to us:
- Gas condensing boiler (natural gas connection is available on the property)
- Air-to-water heat pump
- Micro-CHP system

The living area of our house is approximately 180 m². The heated area according to the offer from a heating installer is about 250 m² (ground floor + upper floor and two basement rooms).

Our current tendency is towards the micro-CHP system, although we would be interested in whether it "pays off" or if the heating costs in a [Kfw70] house are so low that we need too little heating energy.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Hello,
One of the most frequently asked questions here. Ultimately always the same answer:
A reliable and dependable answer is only possible when the actual demand (capacity, energy) for heating, hot water, and possibly ventilation has been calculated beforehand (basic assessment). Based on that, only then, can the suitable and actually economical concept be found. Anyone who skips this runs the risk of making a bad investment. What makes sense for A might just barely work for B and lead to a money pit for C.
There simply is no generic "non-plus-ultra solution"!
In most cases in single-family houses uneconomical!
The heating costs for a Kfw 70 house can be completely different from those of your Kfw 70! How high will yours be? Furthermore, not only these count, but also the share for hot water and possibly ventilation ;)

best regards

Hello €uro,
thank you very much for the info!
I will then contact our developer regarding the basic survey. He should be the right contact person for these questions, right?

Best regards

Hello,
Theoretically, the general contractor should be the right one. However, the subjunctive is no mistake, as the reality unfortunately looks quite different. This is primarily about sales, less about consulting, planning, and dimensioning. Sometimes things are screwed together rather aimlessly here, which is actually inefficient. Very often, the subcontractors of the general contractors are not the sharpest in their trade. Established system builders can hold their own in the market without a general contractor.;)
Since this is not a new insight, more and more clients exclude this trade from the contract from the outset and award it externally. The basic survey, planning, and dimensioning are then carried out by an independent building services engineer who is not involved in sales.

Best regards
