Hello everyone,
we bought a house built in 1987 and now want to renew the flooring on the ground floor.
There are tiles laid from the 80s, which we don’t really like.
The floor itself is even, and the tiles are still technically in good condition.
The big question now is, what is ideally laid "on top"? Removing them is too much work and mess.
Initially, the idea was to lay new tiles on top. However, in the living room near the balcony door, there is only about 1cm of clearance, which could cause problems...
The following options are available:
-Tile on tile and possibly at least remove the tiles in the living room
-High-quality click vinyl laid on the tiles
-Microcement
With Microcement, I am just not sure about the costs!? If the price per square meter is around €150, then it’s out of the question.
The click vinyl would have the advantage that it can be relatively easily replaced in 10 years or so if it no longer pleases...
Does anyone have ideas / tips / decision aids for us?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards
