Hello everyone,

A few years ago, we bought an older house in Croatia. We have now almost completely renovated the inside. The facade insulation and a new facade color are scheduled for next spring at the latest.
Now my question: Which facade color would you choose? I am quite uninspired. The color "white" should definitely not be used. We find it relatively boring. Personally, I like the color anthracite on houses.

The tree on the facade will be cut down soon.

On the first floor, the old wooden window will be replaced by a window 4 times larger in white.
New white plastic windows have been installed.

The roof was redone two years ago.

As a little inspiration, a picture of the house is attached.
Thanks in advance for the answers

Croatia = regularly nicely warm with sun? There is a reason why light colors and white are used in southern regions. I would choose colors between white and terracotta. Definitely not dark colors.

I always find light gray (RAL 7035) quite nice.

hello nordanney, thanks for the quick reply. however, the house is not located by the sea, but rather in the interior of the country, near Zagreb. the temperatures may be a bit higher than in Germany.

would you still advise against dark colors?
what do you think of the color "Cappuccino"?

regards

I can imagine that too. It goes in the direction of terracotta – so everything towards "earth tones." It also has to fit the regionality.

Hi,

Anthracite doesn’t fit in there at all in my opinion, even less so with the red roof. Apart from the heating effect. A bright white surely doesn’t suit the region either. I can well imagine a very light terracotta / ochre / beige. It should be light and still have a clear contrast to the roof color.

Best regards,

Andreas
