Hello!
Our basement plinth is plastered with renovation plaster, where in some places the paint is peeling off. Since the property slopes downward at the back, we have a high plinth on the side and facing the courtyard; at the back, there is a standard-height door installed, so this peeling paint overall just looks very unattractive and immediately catches the eye. I was able to properly close individual cracks and open spots, for example those caused by the outdoor water tap during the renovation, with concrete filler. Now I want to smoothly fill an area of about 10m2 all over. Since mostly only the paint has come off, this is at most 1-2mm. However, concrete filler and most of what I’ve seen at the hardware store are not suitable for covering large areas with such a thin layer. In the end, the plinth is to be painted with suitable paint from a specialist retailer. In the long term, we of course need to have the entire plinth replastered, but for now it has to be this way, as the €3,000 simply isn’t feasible at the moment. Who has experience and can recommend a specific product? Basically, I am looking for something like Knauf or Rigips interior filler; that is, a compound that can be applied as thinly and smoothly as filler intended for interior use.
