Howdy!
I have a question about the sanitary equipment. We are buying a Kaldewei Saniform Plus 375-1, in 180x80 size.
For that, I need to order: feet and drain fitting.
The faucet will come from my builder/plumber.
Now, the builder had a surface-mounted faucet as standard in his contract. I assume that the surface-mounted tub faucet also includes the spout. At least, that’s all I can find. We have now agreed with the builder that he will instead supply us with the concealed Grohe EH tub mixer EUROSTYLE C.
That is the one in the photo – that’s how it looked in our first house, and that’s how it should look again in our second house. =)
Back then, we had the water inlet where the overflow is. So the water came out of the silver overflow part. That is not only stylish but also ideal for comfort – no hot water runs over your leg when letting the water run. I love it.
Now I’m wondering: which fitting did we have back then in the old bathroom?
I have seen that Kaldewei (the tub manufacturer) offers 2 different fittings that are supposed to fit the tub.
- Kaldewei Comfort-Level drain and overflow fitting standard length – for 170€
- Kaldewei Professional Comfort-Level Plus drain and overflow fitting, integrated filling function, standard length – for 412€
Then there is also from another manufacturer:
- Viega Multiplex Trio functional unit 6161.52 drain-inlet-and-overflow fitting normal length – for 80€
(for that, you have to buy the covers separately for 85€ – total 165€)
Now I’m a bit confused about what to take. I assume the Kaldewei part for 170€ is definitely wrong since it does not have an inlet.
Do I then have to take the Kaldewei part for 412€? Or is the Viega version also okay?
How can I ensure that it is compatible?
I think we had an alternative manufacturer back in the old house, at least the rotating part did not say “Kaldewei” on it.
Unfortunately, I have few meaningful pictures from the construction phase. Maybe someone recognizes something or can help?
