I would pave continuously without edges or steps with the same material. Because: the bigger, the better. And what applies to floor coverings also applies outdoors, so create a surface with few breaks and uniform continuity.

We have 6m in width where a carport will be built later, the left side of it is against the house wall. It is quite convenient for parking with a Mini 3-door and a 3-series touring. Even a large paper recycling bin can still fit well if both are parked properly. Since this is not even the case with you, I would consider 6m as acceptable for the pure parking space.

I have 10 m, can get in and out very comfortably, and the children fling the doors open without causing any damage. 8 m is also very comfortable.

Meet with the gardener on Saturday.

I suspect I will have the gable side paved. That will be 7.8 m x 6 m.
There should be space for 2 cars including a path to the side entrance.

Just drive both cars to an empty parking lot and try out how much width you need. Park side by side and then see how well the doors open. If necessary, also think about [Babyschalen]…
