Yes, definitely! You can only gain. Even if the city is not responsible for certain issues, you can inquire about the construction company and make arrangements with them.
When the sidewalk was redone here, I asked for a curb lowering for a driveway still to be planned. The municipality had no objections. I was simply told to contact the site manager directly. It was then implemented free of charge. Sometimes it can be that simple.

There are quite a few points that can be discussed with the local (road) construction office:

[*]Side of the sidewalk (completely surrounding, on one side at your place or opposite)
[*]If the sidewalk is on your side, preliminary planning for a curb ramp (if necessary)
[*]Positioning and type of street lighting
[*]Location/laying of gas, fresh water, household wastewater, greywater (rainwater runoff from the houses as well as street drainage, if separation is planned in your area). If the lines are on the opposite side, a branch to your property can already be laid in advance, so you don’t have to drill under the newly constructed street later.
[*]Location of electricity and telephone, possibly also empty conduits for future fiber optics
[*]Connection for the house water supply (unlike electricity and telephone, a house water branch is somewhat more complex)

It is not uncommon for the municipal utilities to be particularly glad about the timely notification of a construction project. It saves both sides time and money.

Most of it has already been said. Only humans work in the office, and humans are visual creatures. So sketches with dimensions from your plans are certainly advantageous. Exact access, lines, pipes, connections - everything. With luck and connections, the streetlight won’t be standing right in the middle of your driveway.
