We have glued our house number (Edelstahl) to the plastered ETICS. This is not a problem and will certainly also work with the mentioned tapes.

Hi, thanks for the answers, those stainless steel things were still okay in white. I guess I’ll have to look for them then. Did you buy them by the meter and just cut them to size?

I can’t attach a file right now, the forum seems to have problems, so here’s the text instead:

The "spit solutions" all seem to be bent about 20-30 degrees, so that when installed on the vertical wall under the roof they point towards the gutter. If I screw them under the counter-battening, the spits just point straight down?! Is that a problem?

And what lengths of the spits did you use? Preferably short would be nice, but if they are too short they won’t prevent nest building anymore.

Best regards,

Andreas

They are even transparent, so it is almost irrelevant where you screw or stick them on. Length of the spikes 115 mm

I would stretch a net.

If you take the right net and stretch it tight, no bird can get caught in it.

There are bird protection nets/pond nets in different colors. But don’t take the cheap ones, which are usually offered in light green, because a bird can really get caught in those. Better take something like this (see picture). They are available in many hardware stores or garden centers. I just checked the website of a hardware store chain, and this costs about 6 € for 20 m².

Alternatively, you could also use chicken wire.

Hi,

First of all, you need to be aware that swallow nests may not be removed. Even nests that have already been started must not be taken down. If you already have 'Freunde', it can get quite expensive.

Anyway, in our housing estate, some used chicken wire. It doesn't look very good, but it helps.
