You can also worry too much. My chimney sweep said that I don't need any protection for the laminate after all. The fireplace is closed while in operation and when it is opened for adding more fuel, I stand right in front and can react immediately. In eight years, I never once had the impression that I needed to protect the floor.

My chimney sweep phrased it similarly - but not without insisting that the fire protection standard be met.

Yes, I believe that. When I looked at what I was liked for, my heart nearly dropped, the faux pas is so embarrassing to me :D
