I have now measured the wall openings for the interior doors - they should be standard sizes - and given these to the door supplier. Apparently, the wall openings are too large.
High doors are planned for the basement. The openings are 2.17 m between finished floor and lintel. However, the measurement may only be a maximum of 2.135 m! Normal doors are planned for the upper floor. The openings are 2.05 m between screed (vinyl is planned here) and lintel. There may only be a maximum of 2.01 m between finished floor and lintel.
For two narrow WC doors, the opening is 0.78 m wide. According to the door supplier, it may only be a maximum of 0.76 m.
The construction contractor responsible for the masonry insists that the 2.17 m are standard dimensions. I should ask the architect; he would have specified it that way.
Could something be glued or plastered on above and on the sides? Is that durable? The only problem is that the kitchen has already been wallpapered and painted; something would then be missing there.
What do you think about that?
