hi

as written further above in the posts, for example, the humidity is not even measured remotely accurately. most people are satisfied with it because they do not have a real comparison value. who has a calibrated or at least adjusted hygrometer lying around at home or at work? if I buy a device that shows the temperature to 0.1°C, I can probably expect that the temperature has a maximum error tolerance of only 0.2°C! otherwise, it can save itself the display and for example show in 0.5°C steps or even without decimal places. the same goes for humidity. if it shows percent accurately, the error must not be greater than 1, or 2% or even 3% for all I care. a 10% deviation is definitely no longer measuring but rolling dice.

We also use Klima Logg Pro from TFA since we have been in the new building. It is completely sufficient for our purposes, although you should regularly remember the batteries, especially for the main station.

And the system does not like walls and ceilings that are too thick made of reinforced concrete. At least the transmitter in the garage (prefabricated garage 6m in front of the house) occasionally causes problems.

I had read the reviews before buying. There are always dissatisfied people. I had the impression that some expectations were too high, maybe a few devices were actually defective, and some simply seemed overwhelmed by the handling. That didn't stop me from buying because most reviews were positive. And you don't even know if I have comparison values. Although I don't have calibrated reference values, it is enough for me if two devices show almost the same values. But I admit, Netatmo won't meet your requirements; I didn't read one of your posts, otherwise I would have saved myself reading it. :)

Do you need an account to use it? Does it work independently of the internet and Netatmo servers? What is the wireless range (precast concrete garage)? How long does the battery last? :-)

Do you need an account to use it? Yes
Does it work independently of the internet and Netatmo servers? No
How is the wireless range (precast concrete garage)? For me it’s sufficient, but the outdoor station is also only about 10m away from the base station
How long does the battery last? Mine has been in operation for exactly one year, according to the display the batteries are still full. (Bought on Black Friday ;-))

The product is simply unsuitable for someone who has concerns about accounts and external servers. Period. If that doesn’t deter you, in my opinion you have a really great and extensive weather station.
If you look at Netatmo’s weather map, you’ll be surprised how many people have such a station. For me that was also a reason to buy. So many owners, the product must be good. The weather map is freely accessible to everyone, just take a look. Netatmo owners can decide whether their station is shown on the map.

I am not a professional in the field, but I am quite familiar with internet problems. Personally, I consider it unlikely that someone would try to hack my account to spy on whether I am at home. Based on the data (CO2 level) that would be possible. I think that’s far too elaborate; it’s much easier to just check if the light in the house is on.
And I consider it equally unlikely that Netatmo will shut down the servers and everything will stop working.
