hello everyone,
as you can already read in the headline, within the last 24 hours a wall tile in our bathroom has cracked. Specifically, exactly where it meets the windowsill.
It also looks terrible. The tile is completely cracked diagonally.

Our new build was completed last July, so the house has been occupied for less than a year. Really frustrating!

Has anyone had experience with something like this? What rights do we have, what must our construction company provide?
It is a turnkey new build, solid construction, hillside location. The crack is in the bathroom in the basement (our main bathroom). We have not contributed any work ourselves, so everything was done by the construction company.

Thanks and best regards

Normal exchange. It is a stupid spot, the tile was cut, the masonry is shifting, and then the crack starts from the edge where it was cut. Is there a warranty? I rather don’t think so.

Of course, this is a warranty. After all, this is not a maintenance joint... Or rather a maintenance crack. And tiles do undergo a certain amount of wear and tear, but that they are excluded from warranty as a usual wear part would certainly be a bit far-fetched

If something like this were not covered by warranty, I would be very shocked.

Why do you think there is no warranty?
