Hi everyone,
we are currently renovating an old house and have installed a new screed with underfloor heating. The area in the shower was left out because the screed there will be done by the tiler. Now my tiler has expressed concerns because the pipes of the underfloor heating are located under the shower drain pipe. He said that this would cause the drain pipe to dry out quickly, warm up, and start to smell. Do you share these concerns?
I think the plumber had to do it this way because otherwise he wouldn't have achieved the necessary slope. Our floor construction on the upper floor is 5 cm screed, 5 cm insulation, and then 14 cm concrete slab. Would there have been an alternative? Does it help to insulate the pipe?
Thanks and best regards!
