Hello everyone,
We have bought a municipal plot for a semi-detached house in the new development area. My neighbor started with the basement and also excavated and used our plot. We waited because we want to build without a basement, and he wanted to finish the basement with a ceiling so that we could build the support wall. It took 2 months, and meanwhile we wanted to build with a basement. Now we have received the building permit with a basement. Meanwhile, the shell construction of the neighbor has continued, and he has to finish the roof of the house and the upper floor ceiling. He has support pillars/scaffolding on our property. In a few weeks, our earthworks will start. Do I still have to wait until he is finished? We also want to start because waiting any longer is difficult.
Apologies for the long letter and thank you in advance for your valuable answers.
Regards,
HarryBo

Talk to the neighbor that you want to start soon and the things need to be dismantled. If there are still a few weeks left, even better. Then the work on your side will be prioritized so that nothing stands in the way.

I would let the construction company decide.

He didn’t ask you if it’s OK to put the scaffolding on your property and if it might possibly hinder you? The upper floor ceiling and the roof don’t take months. When does your contractor want to start?

Hello Allen, Thank you for the responses. The neighbor said 4 weeks for the basement and then we wanted to start with the retaining wall. It took 2 months and we also needed time for the subsequent basement building permit. Now it has been 5 months and we still have to wait until the ceiling is finished. We are starting in 3 weeks but it is not certain if the scaffolding will be removed. Thank you,

Sorry, but I don't understand the timeline. Nevertheless, I would not let myself be pushed aside as the client. A stance is required against the others.
