Veranda with roofing - yes or no?

Hello, is there anyone here who has a veranda with a roof and can say whether they are satisfied with it or not? We will be building a wooden house in Swedish style next year and are not sure whether a veranda would be an advantage or disadvantage. Our property is on a moderate slope, the house would be positioned so that the veranda is on the back of the house, where the sun would shine during the day. The length of the roof would be 3m. I am mainly afraid that no light will come into the house because of it, but rather that there will be shade all day... Does anyone have experience with this?

There are positive and negative aspects: The light entering the apartment naturally suffers – but without a picture/drawing, it's difficult to judge whether this is critical or not. Advantage of a glass roof: The light entering the apartment is good. Disadvantage of a glass roof: It can become hot/stuffy underneath. Disadvantage of a glass roof: Have you ever thought about cleaning the roof? Disadvantage of an opaque roof: It becomes like a cave.

Conclusion: I would probably not do it.

Nevertheless, I want to say that if you plan to build a Swedish house, you should be aware of the advantages and disadvantages.
A Swedish house is not one if it does not have a loggia on the ground floor. Lack of light can be prevented by planning uncovered open window areas facing south or west.

Thank you for the answers, I am aware of the pros and cons. I am more looking for experiences, whether other people are satisfied with it, whether they would build again with/without a porch. Nevertheless, many thanks for the answers!
