No worries. I didn’t take it as anything bad either.

More or less, we won't have any damage anyway.
We are building with a prefabricated house manufacturer. After comparing all the offers and the experiences of acquaintances with the manufacturer, we decided to go with them.
A controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery is included as standard with them.
Therefore, we would have had that with the manufacturer one way or another.

Hi,
below is a brief list of pros and cons of controlled residential ventilation:

+ Constant fresh air
+ No forced ventilation (according to DIN about 12 times a day!). Associated with this: No need to clear window sills, no drafts, etc.
+ Less dust, insects, and noise
+ Saves heating costs

- Costs of about 10,000€
- Follow-up costs for electricity + filters + maintenance
... I have certainly forgotten a few +/-.

Personally, I want controlled residential ventilation, but not to save heating costs (that probably doesn’t pay off), rather for the comfort! It is important to plan it in from the start and, as one hears/reads, to have it planned and installed by a professional company.

One should watch out for serious construction errors: I have seen a lot of shoddy construction work in pictures. Uninsulated ventilation pipes were laid on the cold floor, which means in winter moisture drips from the exhaust vents on the ceiling, and then I saw a photo where the exhaust and supply air ducts on the roof were less than 5 cm apart... which means you might be sucking in the bad air again right away.

So hire a professional and look closely.

Thank you for your tips, so we have now also decided on heat recovery with ventilation, prices will follow once we have planned everything in detail with the architect. But normal heating is not possible with that, so what would you recommend as a supplement to the normal heating? We plan to equip both floors with underfloor heating and the heat recovery system. On the roof, we have a "small" solar system for domestic water heating. Which gas boiler makes sense to work properly with the heat recovery system? Or maybe no gas boiler at all?!

Hello,

That is not quite correct; with a passive house, it can certainly be sufficient.

As long as you stick with brand manufacturers, it does not matter which supplier you install. The only important thing is not to oversize, meaning to choose the boiler according to the demand; there are differences in the performance of the respective boilers.

You can also completely do without a gas/condensing boiler and instead opt for renewable energies. This saves the gas connection on the one hand, but on the other hand depends on your budget and again on your preferences.

Kind regards

Hello,
A lot has already been written on this topic. Just use the search function!
The controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery seems to me in any case much more sensible than a solar thermal system!

best regards
