Ventilation combined with underfloor heating in new buildings?

Dear community,

Lately, I have often come across the statement that a controlled residential ventilation system is indispensable in a new building. I am now wondering what impact this has on the heating system. Should an air-to-air heat pump for heating via ventilation automatically be preferred, or is a combination of an air-to-water heat pump with underfloor heating also technically and economically sensible? How do you each assess the user experience?

Thank you very much!

Not indispensable, but usually the result of the ventilation concept. Besides that, it also means absolute quality of life, always having fresh (and in my case pollen-free in summer) air in the house. No. Ventilation and heating are two different things. Heating depends, for example, on the efficiency of the house. An air-to-air heat pump requires at least proper KfW 40 standard as a basis (not just nicely calculated!). That is the normal case. In short: never without again. Whether central (rather new buildings) or decentralized (renovations).

In new buildings with their tight windows, the demand quickly exceeds 5 air changes per day. In practice, very few manage this purely through window ventilation. Added to this is the comfort gain when you don’t have to throw the windows wide open at -10 degrees. Air heating is cheaper to purchase (which is why it is so popular as a basic setup) but has significantly higher operating costs. Therefore, in the medium term, the variant with underfloor heating is better. I also find the comfort with underfloor heating significantly higher. Even though a modern underfloor heating system has a low surface temperature and only really feels warm in the bathroom, the heat is distributed more evenly. I notice this every time we are somewhere else and I play on the floor with my little one.
