1500 is more like the entry level, but if you are already considering used systems, that is also sufficient. A Vitoens 200, for example, costs 2000€. The installation is expensive, though, and especially the solar thermal system, and you really cannot buy that used. Unnecessary considerations because of peanuts.

Okay, thank you very much for your opinions! I would have thought that it is common practice to install used heating systems, especially nowadays when you can even lease heaters...

So, a Wolf 20kW gas condensing combi boiler costs 2000€. But you need more than 140 sqm in the new building for that. Only then all the other stuff comes on top and before you know it, you’ve spent 10T on materials (including solar collectors).

For gas boilers, the boiler itself for a single-family house costs between 1500 and 2500 euros. On the installer’s invoice, however, there will be 6000 - 8000 euros (or more) for connecting pipe, fittings, exhaust, electrical work, and his few (many) % profit. Installing a used boiler hardly saves anything at all.

Heating leasing also exists. The minimum contract term is usually 10 years or even designed for 15 years. So it is actually more of a full financing model with maintenance guarantee, insurance, and comfort, rather than the boiler being used elsewhere afterwards, as is the case with cars.

This year we relocated our oil heating system. From one end of the house to the other. Moving the heating system to the new location took about half a day for two people. Until all the connections were made, all pipes adjusted, insulation, leakage test, filling, etc. were completed, it took another three days. That means the working time is immense to install a heating system. The savings for a used heating system would be too small for me - you also forgo the warranty in the process. There is certainly a good reason why it is not common practice to buy a used heating system. The comparison with a car, in my opinion, is quite flawed.
