Hello Jan,

As additional storage space, definitely.

So you are building with a Lehrter provider?

Until about 2 years ago, truss roofs were a considerable amount cheaper than carpenter roofs – today, due to the requirements on the wood, this is no longer the case; rather the opposite.

Why do you want to waste valuable storage space or, in other words, create an obstacle course on the floor?

I don’t want that. I just have several offers where the roof structure is built according to this principle. Of course, I would rather build differently so that I can use the attic better.

In my opinion, this is a tribute to the increasingly dense market of suppliers (disregarding the required wood grades) or simply the behavior of poor saleswomen.

Use a 30-degree gable roof and there will be plenty of space under the roof.

We have an 11x11 city villa with a 28-degree roof pitch and have insulated the slopes, covered them with boards and plastered them.

There is plenty of space upstairs.

Here is just one photo from one side:

Later we might put in roof windows there and partially convert the space into living space.

That's EXACTLY how I imagine it!! Thank you very much. What is the name of the roof structure?
