Hello everyone,

like many of you, we are in the planning phase of our house construction project. After numerous discussions with various builders, we still do not know which way is best to install the underfloor heating. One prefers the wet installation, the next swears by the dry installation. For example, in which variant is the thermal conductivity better? What are your experiences? We want to install vinyl; I cannot understand why a wet installation with bonding the vinyl surface should be disadvantageous...

Stupid question: What is a wet installation? Seriously meant, as I have never heard of or seen such a thing.

Laid in flowing screed, the pipes are enclosed. The dry method is laid with drywall panels, in which the pipes still have air.

How am I supposed to imagine an underfloor heating "installed in drywall panels"? This image does not make sense to me.

After that, we probably installed it wet (nowhere does it say so).

Underfloor heating in drywall construction is installed, among other things, in polystyrene boards with pipe conduits. For better fastening and to improve heat radiation upwards, the straight lengths are clamped in omega-shaped sheets.
try searching for Velta siccus or Upponor siccus.

oh, I see..... if the construction heights allow it, I would choose a construction with wet screed. With low construction height, e.g. in renovation cases or when converting the attic, also the dry construction variant. Olli
