Hi,

today we spontaneously thought that we could skip the underfloor heating in the utility room and save money. Since only laundry is done there and maybe some food is stored on shelves, there is no need to heat it. On the other hand ... at -20°C it might not be a good idea to have a cold room and you also want to dry laundry there. Do you also have underfloor heating in the utility room? It is probably nonsense to leave it out, especially since it is only 5.62 sqm. However, the room also has an active Lunos fan. So the necessary air exchange should be ensured. But I would be interested in your opinion in any case.

Best regards.

What savings do you expect? a) it will be small b) unclear whether the calculation will work at all c) is your HKV included in it?

In the wall from the utility room to the hallway/corridor is the HKV, yes. I would hope for a few hundred euros at most. But most likely that won't happen, if it's even possible at all. We are paying a total of 7,000 EUR for underfloor heating in the entire 150 sqm house. Your point b) could be the deciding factor that it will not be feasible. Basically, it was just a thought and I wanted to know how others handle it.

Savings with us would have been around 50-100 euros - since a house should always be heated completely, it was not even worth considering. In our case, everything from the basement to the upper floor is heated - only the utility room partially, because the HKV with all supply lines is already there and is heated anyway by the dryer and water heater.

Well, we will probably just leave it at that. 100 EUR is not very much. So they simply won't heat there.
