Hello,

are tiles (porcelain stoneware) recommended for underfloor heating? Or is another type of flooring more advisable?

Tiles conduct heat very well. So they are ideal for underfloor heating. Of course, there is also vinyl or laminate / parquet that is suitable, but tiles or porcelain stoneware are certainly the most conductive.

Does it take long for the room to get warm or cold with tiles?

Underfloor heating is generally rather slow in temperature adjustment. Therefore, the heating should run continuously during the cold season.. I don’t have one myself, but my neighbors do. And they confirmed that. So if the room has cooled down, you won’t get it warm within an hour with underfloor heating. No matter what covering.

It depends on how the heating is set, how and with what it is heated, how large the room is, and so on and so forth; it can also take half a day before there is any change in the air temperatures at all... but with tiles, you usually have a better feeling under your feet... in other words, you notice more quickly whether it is being heated or not...
