I also think the wrong roller was used. Painting must also be done according to a pattern. Always move the roller vertically and do not apply too much pressure. Then it should actually work well.

Here are my experiences: Do not press the roller too hard, otherwise it will get flattened. This means the fibers on the roller compress and no longer apply the paint properly. Then there will be streaks. Also, do not apply too little paint on the roller and dip it in again in time. You can hear this from the noise when rolling. Roll first in one direction and then crosswise. So first from top to bottom and then from right to left. This is called finishing. Then there should actually be no more streaks.

We always use a lint roller and have had no problems with streaks or stains so far. And we have used different colors and brands so far.

A poor result can also be due to the quality of the paint. Unfortunately, this cannot be determined by the price. I have already had paints from the discount store (orange, brown) that produced a very good result; I have also had poor results with [Baumarktfarben] (also strong colors).

I can only agree, I also had much better experience with the cheap paint during the last renovation than with the much more expensive one from the hardware store.
