Hello you hardworking DIYers

Unfortunately, I am not a handyman and have little knowledge of the subject.

Regarding my question:
My current room was once part of our former terrace, so 3 of the 4 walls consist of Styrofoam. Now I want to hang an LED TV (about 9kg) on this wall with a wall mount.

Yesterday I hung an Ikea shelf that weighed about 3kg, and the screws didn’t hold very well – but when I shake the shelf now, there is very little give.

Does anyone maybe have an idea whether the TV will hold, or how I could do it better? For space reasons, I can only hang it on the wall :/

My idea was to have a wall mount custom-made by a specialist so that there is more stability – but I also don’t know what something like that could look like.

I hope for your help

Thank you in advance!!!

Hmm, you mean the walls are covered with Styrobor? What is underneath? I would recommend a very, very large contact surface for the bracket; this could then be almost as large as the TV itself, made from about 2mm sheet metal.

Hello.

Maybe you could check if you can get a mount for a TV for the ceiling.

Above all, it is important in this regard that the wall mount for the television is of high quality; in my opinion, that is the greatest risk to safe living. The wall material should be able to hold the device with correct installation.

To add, a friend has also already had bad experiences regarding Styropowände and safe living, as it can happen that with a wall that is too thin, the mount comes off after some time!

Oh yes, always nicely drill into the insulation, the safest way to create a few nice thermal bridges.
