I have now taken a look at the VU+® Duo² 2x DVB-S2 Dual Tuner Full HD 1080p Twin Linux Receiver 4TB HDD.

It has quite a few features, including operation in connection with my FritzBox. Its own wiki will certainly help me with my standard technical skills.
Does anyone of you have this modified VTI software on it?
I would appreciate short experience reports.

Sylvia

Yes, I have done that - but I recommend the VTI forum, there you are better off

I don't have an internal drive - why would I need one with the NAS?

I will register there and get more information.
An external drive makes sense because of a fellow human with minimal technical skills in front of the TV, who also wants to record something sometimes. That means a woman has to make compromises.

Well, I have the Kathrein 923-something and it can also record while you watch something else. And at the same time it can also stream something over the network. Or even record a second thing. And there are apps, and you can also schedule recordings via (mobile) computer.

You don't need technical knowledge to record on the NAS, you just have to press a button

The NAS is then the hard drive

This is how it works for me - including Timeshift and of course in HD.

So, we now have a Vu+ Duo2 running here. It really can be done well with a bit of training. Also, being able to watch on the phone or tablet is brilliant. Thanks for the tips.

Technically, we solved the single cable problem with a plug/unplug solution.
But you can only advise every new builder or remodeler: for every planned TV, two satellite cables and always a LAN connection next to it. Otherwise, you’ll really regret it later and the necessary changes cost a lot as well.
