Hi,

I knew Biolek, but not his Bioloch. As a fellow worker in the kitchen, I also find it impractical because it blocks or at least would block valuable workspace with our chopping habits. Anyone who doesn’t work in the same spot constantly would have to use some kind of intermediate container anyway.
A trash bin that you can slide to where you need it at the moment is more practical from our point of view, as interesting as the idea may sound.

We do it the same way as Climbee. A bowl, a kitchen towel inside (good for the composter) and then the waste in, and then at least once or rather twice a day in summer take it to the composter. Thanks to the kitchen towel nothing sticks, so you only need to briefly hold the bowl under the tap and then it’s ready for the next organic waste collection.

... And eggshells from raw eggs should always be washed out before being added to the compost. Otherwise, raccoons and rats will come

Edit: it's not about [Kompost] at all, but about [Restmüll]

I think this is a good example that you should think first before starting a project. You could have informed yourself beforehand about the installation options and then planned the holes in the board accordingly or created a completely different solution. Now you have two holes in the board where you have to cobble a solution in.

In the kitchen cabinet, a practical solution called MULP (trash under the countertop) is used. That really makes sense. Ideally, it is placed where most of the work is done. Open the drawer, wipe in scraps, close the drawer....done. A neat thing.

We have the trash in a drawer directly under a countertop, so we can slide waste directly from the countertop into the trash. For DIY, you can also make a pedal bin that tilts out from under the countertop - the advantage is that you don't have any cuts in the countertop.
