Hello everyone,

I am curious to see who has creative ideas to help me with my self-made trash bin system:

Problem:

Tears: Due to a lack of a shelf for the bags, the contents eventually reach too much weight, causing the bags to tear in some places.

Holes: Due to insufficient attachment options or the wrong type of attachment, holes appear where the trash occasionally falls through, since there are only 4 points where the bag can be secured.

Solutions:

Tears: Either attach a board at the bottom where the bag can stand, so there is no longer any weight. Or buy a custom-made trash bin or make one out of wood yourself.

Holes: Either attach adhesive tape to the bag so that you can pull the bag up where there would otherwise be holes and stick it down (disadvantage: eventually it stops sticking). Or some kind of ring attachment. Or something self-made for the self-made trash bin.

I urgently need advice. Slowly getting desperate here.

Best regards

Hi Lagun4,

my girlfriend has already received something ready from the kitchen studio. It was a bucket that is recessed into the countertop. There was also a rubber lip on it, which you put over the garbage bag in the bucket.
It looked good and also practical.

I would also do the whole thing with a bucket, I never thought that you could do it without one.

So that the bucket is completely removable, then the bag can simply be pulled over the trash can and will clamp itself to the trash can.

Thank you in advance for the answers.

So a bucket seems simple at first. The only question is whether the bucket fits or if it can be custom-made. I have built everything myself so far and cannot just buy a trash bin system that is standardized. The other thing is the nice wooden lids that fit perfectly flush with the countertop.

Best regards

I would try to make the buckets removable similar to hbf12. Either attach a pull-out rail under the countertop, into which a bucket with a bag can be hung, or a second pull-out shelf (e.g., Ikea Komplement) under the countertop, where the buckets can then be hung by the rim.

The lids fit until the plate along with the lid swells. As nice as that may look, I can predict that it will not last. I am currently on the road and will look for a solution when I am back home.
