Well, a terraced middle house often only has a width of 5m, and the property naturally the same. If there are trash bins in front of the door, you can no longer fit two vehicles there.

What role do you actually have in this game – are you the builder? You write that you have bought a terraced middle house. Is it a developer's project (land with house)? Then you don't have to care about this issue; the approval would then be the problem of the developer. Tell us a bit more about the purchase contract you concluded.

Am I correct in fearing that the said neighbor is to your left and not only bought your parking space but even the entire carport property in order to combine it with his building plot and build wider? – if so, you should urgently clarify your possible legal remedies to protest against the merger and have the sale of the property, which according to the development plan is practically dedicated to the community of residents, reversed. Inspect the land register sheet of the carport property. Quick, see a lawyer! The "front yard" of the house is entirely within a parking space building window, but if the development plan textually excludes that you create two building plots here, you have a problem. Provided – clarify this! – the city actually failed to secure your acquisition opportunity for the collective carport space, it should at least grant you a free exemption for the second parking space. In my opinion, the best case would be to undo the trick of the sale to the neighbor. Mayors are elected officials and unfortunately require less professional qualification than their subordinates. Occasionally, they also make use of their "right to incompetence" to a (dis)extent that I would not have thought possible before the "Goalkeeper Thread." Which procedure I would consider appropriate with such mayors I cannot publicly express for criminal law reasons ;-)

If that is the case, then I can imagine that other builders might have the same problem. There are quite a few carport spaces. Then a coalition of those affected might accomplish something. Or the neighbor has a large fleet :-)

What kind of seller is that? Some commercial entity or the farmer who previously owned the field? (I admit pure curiosity, since I guess it probably doesn’t make much difference to you)

In any case, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you! It surely can’t be the authority’s intention that a building plot becomes a garden area due to lack of buildability.
